What a difference! A HUGE thanks to Hunt Electric, Graybar, Davis & Associates, and the Electrical Workers Minority Caucus for turning our construction trades training space into a safe place for high school students to learn & grow in the trades!

When we called Milwaukee Tool to ask for a discount on power tools, they took one look at our program and decided that a discount wasn’t enough. They saw our vision for revitalized urban communities, empowered youth, and a more diverse workforce, and they decided to lean in. And, I mean…LEEEEEAN IN!

Thanks to the efforts of our good friend & local Milwaukee rep, Collin Dieck, Milwaukee Tool has truly put their money where their mouth is and supplied our students with enough cordless power tools to build a skyscraper. Their unbelievably generous donation not only gives under-served youth an opportunity to work with contractor grade construction equipment (preparing them for careers in the trades), but it tells our students, “You’re worth investing in!” And, they're right!

Thank you, Milwaukee!

Thank you for truly putting skin in the game!

Thank you for seeing the need and accepting responsibility to meet it!

Thank you for betting on Lake Street Works. We won’t let you down, and neither will our students!

Studio-180 Capital Campaign

In 2020 the riots in south Minneapolis destroyed vital businesses, and families were deeply impacted. Hope was destroyed. The Building Hope in the Inner City campaign brings back hope by establishing a fully equipped training center for two vital urban programs:

  • Trades training for high school youth so upon high school graduation, they can qualify for higher paying careers.

  • Urban Leadership training that equips leaders to achieve transformational change.

We hope to purchase and remodel our current building in south Minneapolis, naming it The Tony Oliva Leadership and Trades Training Center. Named after an immigrant that persevered, achieved his dream, and never lost hope. With your support we can build this new facility to create change, healing, and hope for our inner city.

We believe hope emerges with stability, safety and opportunities for sustainable family income. Our vision is to build a state of the art leadership and trades development center for the inner city. Join our mission to “Change People and Places 180 Degrees”.
